Iraq’s Ambassador to Brussels Meets Secretary General of International Energy Charter to Discuss Strengthening Cooperation

On September 17, 2024. Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Belgium Mr. Ahmad Tahseen Berwari met with the Acting Secretary General of the International Energy Charter Ms. Atsuko Hirose and the Head of the Administration and External Activities Unit, to discuss ways to enhance international cooperation in the field of energy.

The Acting Secretary General reviewed the organization’s activities and future plans to strengthen its relations with Iraq, which is an international player in the oil and energy sector and an observer to the Energy Charter Conference.

On his part Ambassador Berwari extended his thanks to Ms. Hirose for the warm welcome, stressing the mission’s keenness to strengthen cooperation with international organizations within the framework of its work, to serve the interests of both parties. He also expressed Iraq’s interest in benefiting from the organization’s services and expertise in the energy fields.
