Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Discusses Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation with Deputy Prime Minister for Cabinet Affairs of Oman

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein met with Omani Deputy Prime Minister for Cabinet Affairs Mr. Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said in Muscat on September 16, 2024. During the meeting they discussed ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries. His Excellency Minister Fuad Hussein also offered his condolences to the Sultanate of Oman, its leadership and people, over the terrorist incident that targeted a mosque during the commemoration of the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him). Minister Hussein expressed Iraq’s readiness to provide support in the fight against terrorism, given the expertise and capabilities it owns in this field.

Additionally, both sides stressed the importance of intensifying communication and joint meetings for its positive outcomes, that serves the interests of both countries.

On his part Mr. Al Said, expressed his country’s appreciation for the successes achieved by Iraq during the period in which it faced serious challenges, and stressed his government’s keenness to develop bilateral relations especially in light of the security stability and economic and service development Iraq is witnessing.
