Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Chairs Second Meeting of Arab Contact Committee to Discuss Syrian Crisis

On Tuesday, September 10, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein chaired the second meeting of the Arab Contact Committee for direct dialogue with the Syrian government, to reach a comprehensive solution to the crisis in Syria. During the meeting the Minister stressed the need to attach importance on the humanitarian aspect, to serve the interests of the brothers in the Syrian Arab Republic.

The meeting was attended by the foreign ministers of the member states of the committee, namely Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Lebanon, in addition to Syria, which was held on the sidelines of the meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level, at the League’s headquarters in Cairo.

It was decided during the meeting to hold the next meeting on expert level in Baghdad, in preparation for holding the meeting of foreign ministers, which is also scheduled to be held in Baghdad as soon as possible.
