Head of Arab Department Meets Saudi Ambassador to Iraq

On Monday, September 9, the Head of Arab Department at the Foreign Ministry Mr. Osama Al Rifai met with Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Iraq Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Shammari. The two sides discussed ways of enhancing bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, as well they touched on regional and international developments of common concern, in addition to ways of advancing cooperation in the political, economic and cultural fields. The two sides stressed the importance of continuing coordination and consultation to achieve the common interests and support stability and development efforts in the region.

On his part, Ambassador Al Shammari commended the depth of relations between Iraq and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, expressing his aspiration for continued cooperation and communication between the two countries across various fields. He also stressed the Kingdom’s keenness to support Iraq in its path towards stability and prosperity.

At the end of the meeting Mr. Al Rifai expressed his appreciation for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s supportive stances towards Iraq, stressing the importance of strengthening bilateral relations to serve the interests of the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.
