Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Receives a Copy of Credentials of Swiss Ambassador to Baghdad
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein received a copy of the credentials of the Swiss Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Daniel Hunn, on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.
The Minister welcomed the reopening of the Swiss Embassy in Baghdad, after 33 years of closure. He affirmed that this step is important in the framework of strengthening bilateral relations between Iraq and Switzerland, and reflects the desire of both sides to consolidate cooperation across various fields.
The Minister indicated that the reopening of the Swiss Embassy represents an important positive step in strengthening the paths of diplomatic relations and opening new horizons for fruitful cooperation between the two countries, to serve the interests of the two friendly peoples. Additionally, Minister Hussein stressed the Iraqi government’s support for the success of the task of the Swiss mission in Baghdad.
On his part, Ambassador Hunn extended his thanks and appreciation to the Minister, expressing his country’s aspiration to strengthen relations with Iraq across various fields, to enhances the common ties between the two friendly countries.
