Press Statement 

The Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Iraq welcomes the reopening of the Swiss Embassy in Baghdad, after its closure for 33 years. This step comes in the framework of enhancing bilateral relations between Iraq and Switzerland, and reflects the desire of both sides to consolidate cooperation across various fields.

The Ministry affirms that the reopening of the Swiss Embassy represent a positive mark in the course of diplomatic relations, and opens more horizons for fruitful cooperation between the two countries to serve the interests of the two friendly peoples.

The Ministry looks forward to strengthening partnerships and developing bilateral dialogue with Switzerland, and is working to create the appropriate conditions for the success of joint efforts, to advance the paths of cooperation forward.
