Iraqi Ambassador in Cairo Discusses Issues of Joint Cooperation with Assistant Secretary General of Arab League
The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States Dr. Qahtan Taha Khalaf, met with Assistant Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Ambassador Hossam Zaki, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League.
The meeting discussed a number of issues of common interest, chief among them the new annex building that Iraq donated to build for the Arab League, as they emphasized the need to expedite its completion and inaugurating it by Iraqi officials. The meeting also included discussing a number of topics on the agenda of the Council of the League of Arab States in the upcoming ministerial meeting.
In addition, the two sides exchanged views on the file of reforming and developing the League of Arab States, and the mechanism of work of the third team concerned with economic and social reform, which Iraq chairs.
At the end of the meeting both sides stressed the importance of working to strengthen the unity and develop Arab relations in a way that serves common interests.
