Statement

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry welcomes the joint statement issued by the leaders of the United States, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the State of Qatar, which calls for concluding a ceasefire agreement, releasing the hostages and detainees, and providing immediate relief to the people of Gaza. The Ministry believes that this statement reflects a serious commitment by the three leaders to resolve the existing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and is an important step towards achieving stability in the region.

The Ministry affirms its support for this international effort, and calls on all involved parties to deal positively with this initiative.

The Foreign Ministry also calls for a resumption of urgent discussions, and affirms Iraq’s readiness to support any effort that is in the interest of strengthening peace and security in the region.

The Ministry hopes that these efforts will result in tangible outcomes that can contribute to alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people and ending the current crisis as soon as possible.
