Iraq Repatriates Bodies of 13 Migrants Who Drowned off Italian Coast in Cooperation with Kurdistan Regional Government and Italian Authorities
Upon the directives of Prime Minister and the follow up of his Deputy Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, and the Iraqi Embassy in Rome, an Iraqi military aircraft headed to return the bodies of 13 Iraqis who drowned off the Italian coast from the Reggio Calabria to Iraq. The embassy followed the incident from the beginning and sent a consular delegation headed by Consul Qahtan Adnan to pursue the case, as well coordination was made with the Italian authorities and the Kurdistan Regional Government. The Iraqi delegation thanked the Italian side for its cooperation in caring for the survivors and recovering the bodies.
