Statement
Today, Iraqis recall the 10th Anniversary of the Yazidi Genocide committed by Dae’sh terrorist organization in Nineveh governorate in 2014. This horrible crime shook human consciences all over the world, as the treacherous terrorism and deviant Takfiri ideology did not differentiate between men and women, or between children and old people. It was one of the most outrages acts witnessed by the world in recent history.
The solid existence of the Yazidis with other components of the Iraqi people reflects the strength of unity and social cohesion in the face of crises, holding onto the land, and the determination on survival and defiance.
On this painful anniversary, the government continues its work via its institutions to achieve justice for the victims, and urges the international community to stand with Iraq in its efforts to support the Yazidis and the rest of the components that suffered from Dae’sh crimes, and to rebuild affected communities and promote peace and stability in the region.
