Iraq’s Diplomatic Missions Abroad Commemorates the 10th Anniversary of the Yazidi Genocide

Iraq’s Missions in Ankara, New Delhi, Jeddah, Dublin and Abu Dhabi, commemorated the 10th Anniversary of the Yazidi Genocide committed by Dae’sh terrorist gangs. On this occasion speeches were delivered recalling the atrocities committed by this terrorist organization against the Yazidis and the authentic Iraqi components.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Ankara Mr. Majid Al Lachmawi referred to these acts of cowardice as one of the most heinous crimes world has ever seen, indicating the government’s measures to provide justice to the Yazidi citizens, including activating the Yazdi Survivors’ Law.

On his part the Chargé d’Affaires of the Iraqi Embassy in New Delhi Mr. Nizar Marjan, mentioned the sacrifices made by the Iraqi army and all formations of our security forces’ to save our country from Dae’sh terrorism, while recalling the crimes committed by the terrorist organization against our Iraqi people.

In the same context the Consul General in Jeddah Mr. Mohammed Samir affirmed that these crimes will remain a witness for future generations and the world to the despicable acts of terrorist groups.

Additionally the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Dublin organized a solidarity stand on this occasion. As the Chargé d’Affaires Mr. Mushtaq Falih Hassan indicated that the third of August of each year is a national day to stand in solidarity with the Yazidi and other components of Iraqi society, for the atrocities they have suffered at the hands of these criminal gangs.

As well the Iraqi Embassy in Abu Dhabi commemorated the anniversary of the Yazidi genocide on August 2, 2024. The event was attended by the Iraqi community and embassy staff, Ambassador Mudhfar Aljubouri delivered a speech in which he commemorated the terrorist massacres against the Yazidis and highlighted the government’s measures to find the missing Yazidi women and restore their rights.
