Head of Europe Department Receives Greek Ambassador to Iraq

Ambassador Bakr Ahmed Al Jaff, Head of Europe Department received the Ambassador of Greece to Iraq Mr. Georgios Almanos, at the Ministry’s headquarters on July 23, 2024. The two sides discussed bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways to develop them. Ambassador Almanos indicated his embassy’s efforts to restore direct air transportation between Iraq and Greece, in addition to investment opportunities in Iraq, and the work of Greek companies in the reconstruction and infrastructure fields, especially since one of the Greek companies contributed in establishing a power station.

On his part, Ambassador Al Jaff expressed his happiness over the Greek Ambassador’s visit, commending the joint role of our embassy in Athens and the Greek embassy in Baghdad, and their endeavor to develop relations between the two countries at various levels. As well he expressed his readiness to provide all necessary facilities to overcome the obstacles facing the work of the Greek Embassy in Baghdad.
