Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Meets Bahrain’s Foreign Minister in Washington
On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain Dr. Abdullatif Alzayani, on the sidelines of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Summit held in Washington to mark the 75th anniversary of NATO’s founding.
As part of the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and ways to develop them, Minister Hussein congratulated his Bahraini counterpart on the success of the Arab Summit held in Manama last May. The meeting also dealt with the Iraqi government’s preparations to host the 34th Arab Summit in Baghdad.
Additionally, Minister Fuad Hussein commended the Bahraini authority’s decision to restore direct air link to Iraq, which will enhance official and people-to-people relations. The two sides also touched on the regional situation and the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip, and stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to end this war, achieve stability, and ensure that it does not expand in the region.
