Undersecretary for Administrative and Technical Affairs Receives Turkish Ambassador to Iraq
Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Administrative and Technical Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Nayef Rashid Al Dulaimi, received Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Iraq, Mr. Anil Bora Inan, in his office at the Ministry’s headquarters in Baghdad, on June 2, 2024. During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries and discussed a number of issues of common concern. Undersecretary Al Dulaimi, highlighted the depth of the historical ties and relations between both countries, and wished the Ambassador success in his new tenure.
The Undersecretary, indicated the priorities and directions of the Iraqi government and Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al Sudani, which focuses on the necessity of openness to neighboring countries, as well brotherly and friendly countries, in addition developing relations and increasing economic, political and security cooperation.
Undersecretary Al Dulaimi called on Turkish companies to invest in Iraq, which is witnessing the implementation of strategic projects throughout the country, they also discussed facilitating procedural matters on granting entry visas to citizens of the two neighboring countries. The meeting also dealt with the latest developments of the ongoing attacks on the Gaza Strip, where Undersecretary Al Dulaimi affirmed Iraq’s firm stance in supporting the Palestinian cause.
On his part, the Turkish Ambassador expressed his country’s keenness to continue coordination with Iraq in all political, economic and security fields.
He also highlighted the importance of the Development Road for Iraq and the region, stressing that Turkey fully supported the project, noting that Iraq is witnessing positive development in terms of economic and security.
At the end of the meeting Ambassador Inan, thanked Dr. Al Dulaimi for the warm reception and the support of the Foreign Ministry, since his assumption of his duties.
