Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Receives United States Ambassador

On Wednesday, June 12, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein received United States Ambassador to Iraq Ms. Alina L. Romanowski. Minister Fuad Hussein and Ambassador Romanowski discussed the latest developments in bilateral relations between the United States of America and the Republic of Iraq. As well as the meeting dealt with the latest developments regarding Gaza, the Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire, and the outcomes of the Gaza aid conference in Jordan.

In a different context, the two sides touched on the Security Council resolution regarding the future of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), and views were exchanged between the two parties in this regard.
