Statement

The Foreign Ministry expresses the Republic of Iraq’s welcoming of the UN Security Council’s resolution calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and its support for the complete withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces from Gaza, and the safe return of displaced Palestinian citizens to their homes in different parts of the Strip, as well as ensuring the safe delivery of humanitarian aid, in a way that fully meets the needs of the residents of the Strip, and reject any demographic change.

The Ministry urges the Palestinian parties to respond to the resolution, in preparation for the establishment of an independent, fully sovereign Palestinian state with Al Quds as its capital.
