Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Meets Huawei Representatives in Beijing 

On Wednesday, May 29, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, held a meeting with representatives of  Huawei, on the sidelines of his participation in the10th Ministerial Conference of the Chinese – Arab States Cooperation Forum, which was held in Beijing. Minister Hussein was thoroughly briefed on the company’s work, activities and its future plans that it aspires to implement in Iraq. The company stated that it continued to operate despite the difficult circumstances that Iraq had previously experienced, and confirmed its desire to continue investing in the digital field and improving the digital technologicalies. On his part the Minister welcomed cooperation in the digital field to support the government data and information center with expertise, and provide the necessary services that ensure digital transformation, affirming that this cooperation will be a starting point for the Iraqi government to provide services to citizens and reduce bureaucracy. The two parties also agreed that there would be a visit to the People’s Republic of China to learn about the latest digital developments and the possibility of replicating the experience of Beijing’s in this field, and transfer it to Iraq.
