Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Meets his Syrian Counterpart in Beijing 

On Thursaday May 30, 2024. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein, met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic, Dr. Faisal Al Miqdad, on the sidelines of the 10th Ministerial Conference of the Chinese – Arab States Cooperation Forum, which was held in Beijing. During the meeting the two sides discussed several issues of common concern, and ways to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields, in addition to they exchanged views on the security situation in the region, stressing the importance of continuing communication to adopt unified positions regarding combating terrorism, and working together to tackle it. As well as both sides agreed to form joint ministerial committees of experts and specialists to discuss issues related to enhancing ties, and increase cooperation in various fields. Minister Hussien, stressed that the Iraqi leadership in Baghdad will continue to communicate with all parties to find peaceful solutions for issues affecting the security situation in the region.
