Statement

The Foreign Ministry expresses the Republic of Iraq’s welcomeing the decision taken by the Kingdom of Norway, the Kingdom of Spain, and the Republic of Ireland to recognize the State of Palestine.

The Ministry considers this decision an important first step towards restoring and consolidating the entire Palestinian violated right.

The Ministry calls on the international community to move toward recognizing the State of Palestine, and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, as well as to support their national struggle in achieving independence.

The Ministry affirms that stability of the region can only be achieved by establishing a Palestinian state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
