Acting Head of International Organizations and Conferences Department Receives Algerian Ambassador to Iraq

Acting Head of International Organizations and Conferences Department, Dr. Fadel Al Rahim, received the Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to Iraq Mr. Jihad Al Din Belkas, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Baghdad.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed areas of mutual cooperation, coordinating stances in international organizations, nominations for international positions and other issues of common concern, in addition to exchanging views on several issues raised before international multilateral forums. Dr. Al Rahim emphasized the importance of sharing insights on a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern, in light of the position Algeria currently hold, as an Arab member of the Security Council, especially since the two countries shares identical views on many regional and international issues.

On his part, Ambassador Belkas expressed his country’s appreciation for Iraq’s political stances, stressing his country’s keenness to convey Iraq’s concerns to the Security Council, in accordance with what Iraq’s national interests require.
