Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Receives His Excellency Tunisian Foreign Minister Nabil Ammar

On Saturday, May 11, 2024. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, received at the Ministry’s headquarters, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Nabil Ammar, who arrived in Baghdad to participate in 17th Session of the Joint Iraqi-Tunisian Committee.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Hussein expressed his thanks to his Tunisian counterpart for his visit, expressing his welcoming for holding the committee after its last meeting in 2019, The Minister stressed that this committee constitute an additional milestone in strengthening the ties of brotherhood and enhancing the existing cooperation relations between the two countries, and upgrade them to the level of active partnership, indicating the importance of the relations between the two brotherly countries.

Minister Fuad Hussein, also indicated the necessity of developing the economy through tourism, given its role in developing the economic and social aspects between the two countries. As well the joint committee will be held under the chairmanship of the two Foreign Ministers from May 10 to 12.

During this visit the Iraqi-Tunisian Businessmen Forum will be opened and a number of memorandums of understanding and agreements in various fields will be signed, which will strengthen ties between the two brotherly countries.

The Tunisian Minister is accompanied by an important delegation from various Tunisian ministries and official sectors, in addition to a large number of businessmen and economic actors.
