Ambassador of Republic of Iraq to European Union Meets Chair of EP’s Delegation for Relations with Iraq

On Wednesday, April 17, 2024, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the European Union Ahmed Tahseen Berwari, met with Chair of the European Parliament’s Delegation for relations with Iraq Ms. Sara Skyttedal, in her office at the Parliament.

Ambassador Berwari extended his thanks to Ms. Skyttedal for her efforts in supporting the Delegation for Relations with Iraq in the European Parliament, expressing his hope that the Delegation’s work with Iraq will continue during the next parliamentary session.

Additionally, Ambassador Berwari highlighted the importance of holding the eighth consultative parliamentary meeting between the two sides in Brussels, given the success that culminated in holding the seventh meeting in Baghdad last year. The meeting also discussed issues and developments internationally, most notably the events in the Middle East, as the ambassador emphasized Iraq’s firm stance towards the Palestinian issue and its support to the Palestinian people.

On her part, Ms. Skyttedal expressed her pleasure to work with Iraq, as well as her support for holding the eighth consultative parliamentary meeting in Brussels this year during the next parliamentary session.
