Head of Europe Department Receives Ambassador of NATO Mission to Iraq

On Tuesday, April 2, 2024, the Head of Europe Department Ambassador Haider Mansour Al Athari, received Ambassador of the NATO Mission to Iraq Mr. Ronald Sonnemans, at the Ministry’s headquarters

During the meeting Ambassador Al Athari received an official invitation from the NATO Council in Brussels, addressed to the relevant iraqi authorities, to attend the high-level dialogue sessions for partnership between Iraq and NATO, which will be held in Brussels.

Ambassador Al Athari thanked Mr. Sonnemans for the invitation, adding that the Iraqi government welcomed it, stressing the readiness of the Ministry to cooperate in order to complete the logistical details with the rest of the relevant ministries, they also discussed cooperation between the two sides and ways to enhance it.

On his part Ambassador Sonnemans expressed his happiness with the meeting that took place between the Foreign Ministry and the permanent Ambassadors to the NATO Council on March 10, 2014, at the Ministry’s headquarters, and the Ministry’s responsiveness in facilitating procedures for NATO employees in Iraq.

In the end of the meeting Mr. Sonnemans thanked Ambassador Al Athari for the warm reception and cooperation shown by the Ministry
