Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations Receives Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany

On Monday, March 18, 2024 Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations, Ambassador Muhammad Hussein Muhammad Bahr Al-Ulum, received Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany Mr. Tobias Lindner, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Baghdad.

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations, and ways to enhance them in all fields, as well as international and regional issues of common interest.

Undersecretary Bahr Al-Ulum, praised the support provided by Germany to Iraq at various levels, in addition to, commended the mutual visits between the two sides, the most important of which was the visit of the Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani to Berlin, and the positive outcomes accomplished by the visit.

The Undersecretary, stressed Iraq’s keenness to strengthen bilateral relations with all countries of the world on the basis of respect for sovereignty and common interests, pointing to the security stability witnessed by the country and the reform steps that the Iraqi government is working on and the importance of supporting these efforts to enhance Iraq’s role and contribution to the stability of the region.

On his part, Mr. Lindner, stressed his country’s keenness on Iraq’s unity, sovereignty and stability, expressing Germany’s desire to expand its relations with Iraq in the fields of economy, investment and development.
