Undersecretary for Multilateral and Legal Affairs Receives Algerian Ambassador to Iraq
On Sunday, March 10, 2024, Undersecretary for Multilateral and Legal Affairs Ambassador Omer Al-Barzanji, received the Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to Iraq, Mr. Jihad Al-Din Belqas, at the Ministry headquarters.
During the meeting Undersecretary Al-Barzanji welcomed the Algerian Ambassador, reviewing the distinguished relations between the two brotherly countries and the convergence of their positions on Arab and regional issues, especially the Palestinian issue, praising the important role that Algeria plays as a non-permanent member of the Security Council.
The two parties also discussed a number of issues of common interest, related to nominations for membership in international organizations, as well as legal and judicial cooperation agreements between the two countries.
On his part, the Algerian Ambassador extended his thanks to Mr. Al-Barzanji, for providing the opportunity to meet, emphasizing his appreciation for the efforts made in this regard, in addition to he indicated that Algeria submitted a draft resolution to the Security Council to demand the immediate cessation of aggressive actions against Palestinian people in Gaza, but it was not passed due to the right of veto, for one the permanent, expressing his country’s desire for continuing cooperation in all aspects.
