Undersecretary for Political Planning Meets Indian Ambassador in Baghdad

Undersecretary for Political Planning Ambassador Hisham Al Alawi, received the Indian Ambassador in Baghdad Mr. Prashant Pise, on March 5, 2024, at the Ministry’s headquarters. The two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations in key sectors such as energy and transportation, and organize high-level visits between the two countries in the second half of this year, as well as the possibility of expanding cooperation in the field of higher education through universities twinning between Iraq and India and developing school curriculum in key and vital specializations. In addition to benefiting from Indian expertise in the field of information technology, and cooperate to develop programs for artificial intelligence applications in Iraqi schools and universities.

The meeting also reviewed opportunities to increase the training programs that are held by India for Iraqi diplomats, to enhances diplomatic expertise and competencies.

On his part, His Excellency Ambassador Prashant Pise, requested the Ministry’s assistance to expedite the removal of the remaining materials from the artificial limbs camp, which India established in Iraq last year.
