Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Receives Syrian Foreign Minister in Cairo
On Tuesday, March 5, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein received his Syrian counterpart Faisal Miqdad, during his visit to Cairo to participate in the 161st regular Session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level.
The meeting discussed the worsening conditions in Gaza, in addition Minister Hussein emphasized the necessity of taking a common and consistent Arab stance to support the Palestinian people and realize their legitimate rights, stating that Palestine is the central cause for the Arabs.
Furthermore, both ministers reviewed bilateral relations and ways to develop and strengthen them to serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples, in addition to a number of regional and international issues of common interest, they also reviewed topics on the agenda of the Arab Summit in its 33rdsession, which will be hosted by Bahrain.
During the meeting, Minister Hussein indicated the need to hold the meeting of the liaison committee, emanated from the Arab League for Syria, and the necessity of convening its meeting in the near future, expressing Baghdad’s readiness to host the committee.
