Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations Receives President of Iraq Britain Business Council

On March 3, 2024, Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations Mr. Muhammad Hussein Muhammad Bahr Al Ulum, received Baroness Emma Nicholson, President of the Iraq Britain Business Council (IBBC), at the Ministry’s headquarters. During the meeting, they reviewed the Council’s various investment activities in Iraq, its next project regarding developing the agricultural sector, and fight against climate change in Iraq through advanced technologies.

In addition to, Baroness Nicholson outlined that the Council is a platform, which includes several British companies, and their goal is to encourage investment in Iraq, expressing the Council’s intention to enhance support for Iraq in the investment sector, considering its vast human and natural potentials, especially in light of the growing Security stability and economic development.

Undersecretary Bahr Al Ulum, indicated that the current government granted priority to investment in various sectors, emphasizing the importance of the expertise that Britain enjoys in this regard, in addition to expressing the willingness of the Foreign Ministry to facilitate the Council’s tasks in Iraq.
