Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Meets Mali’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation

On March 3, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Mali Mr. Abdoulaye Diop, on the sidelines of the Third Antalya Diplomacy Forum. During the meeting, Minister Diop reviewed the developments in the political, economic and security situation in his country, expressing his desire to cooperate in the security field, with the specialized Iraqi institutions, considering their pioneer experience in the field of combating terrorism and extremist groups, expressing his desire to visit Iraq in the near future and have a closer look at the stable security and political situation.

On his part, Minster Hussein indicated Iraq’s endeavor to strengthen its political relations with African countries , especially the Republic of Mali, expressing Iraq’s readiness to cooperate with Mali in security and intelligence fields, in addition to the readiness of Iraqi security institutions, to share their expertise and experience in combating terrorist organizations with the relevant security agencies and institutions of the Republic of Mali
