Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Meets South African Minister for International Relations and Cooperation

On March 3, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, met with the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa Ms. Naledi Pandor, on the sidelines of the Third Antalya Diplomacy Forum. During the meeting, both ministers shared views on the current situation in the region, Minister Hussein expressed his appreciation and thanks for the efforts of the South African government in supporting the Palestinian people, and for recognition the justice of its cause, and their struggle against Israeli aggression.

As part of the meeting, Minister Hussein indicated the efforts of the current government in building the Iraqi economy and diversifying sources of income, calling on the South African companies to contribute to the reconstruction and investment movement in various sectors, emphasizing the prevailing of security in the country, which provide an incentive for foreign companies to work and invest freely and flexibly, as well Minister Hussein, extended an invitation to his counterpart to visit Iraq.

On her part, Minister Pandor expressed her desire to accept the invitation and visit Baghdad as soon as possible.
