Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Receives a Phone Call From his Irish Counterpart

On Thursday February 29, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dr. Fuad Hussein received a phone call from his Irish counterpart Mr. Michael Martin. During the phone call, the Irish Foreign Minister thanked the government of Iraq for recently opening its mission in Ireland and wished success for the embassy in carrying out its duties, and his country’s continued willingness to support Iraq and the work of the mission, the two ministers discussed the dangerous conditions in the Gaza Strip and its surroundings, demanding the international community to assume its role in achieving a ceasefire, and protect civilians in light of the escalating military operations, stressing the need to support UNRWA as it is the only organization concerned with delivering aid to the Palestinian people, both ministers also reviewed bilateral relations and ways to develop them in various areas.
