Head of Europe Department Ambassador Haidar Al Athari Meets Head of Middle East Department of Armenian Foreign Ministry

Ambassador Haider Al Athari Head of Europe Department, met with the Head of the Middle East and Africa Department of the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Arsen Arakelyan, on Monday, February 26, 2024, the visit of Mr. Arakelyan, to Iraq, come in the context of following on the upcoming visit of the Armenian President to Baghdad.

Both sides discussed bilateral relations and ways to further promote prospects of cooperation between Iraq and Armenia, during the meeting Ambassador Al Athari, expressed his pleasure with the visit of His Excellency the Armenian President to Iraq, which comes after the visit of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Iraq to Armenia last year, reflecting the depth of the relationship between the two friendly countries, hoping the visit to be successful, productive and contribute to strengthening bilateral relations between Iraq and Armenia.

On his part, Mr. Arakelyan, expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by both sides which contributed to the success of the visit, stressing his country’s serious desire to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation with Iraq in the sectors of energy, advanced technology, health and trade.
