Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein Chairs Seventh Meeting of Ministerial Council for Economy
On Monday, February 26, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dr. Fuad Hussein, chaired the seventh meeting of the Ministerial Council for Economy 2024, the Meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning, the Ministers of Agriculture, Industry, Labor and Social Affairs, the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, and the Prime Minister’s advisors for economic and legal affairs.
The Council addressed the topics on its agenda, and took the necessary actions regarding them. The Council decided to approve the completion of building a service road linking Al Saa’ Roundabout to Al Rehab Roundabout in the city of Fallujah.
The Council also agreed to include the components for equipping and supplying a production line at the seed processing plant Project in Nineveh. In the context of increased red meat prices in Iraqi markets, and to contribute in reducing prices the Council approved a request of the Ministry of Agriculture and recommended the Council of Ministers, to reduce customs duties on imported live animals for slaughtering and breeding purposes (livestock) by 50% for a period of one year.
