Undersecretary for Multilateral and Legal Affairs Receives Turkish Ambassador in Baghdad

On January 31, 2024, the Undersecretary for Multilateral and Legal Affairs Mr. Omer Al-Barzanji, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Iraq Mr. Ali Riza Güney, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Baghdad.
Mr. Al-Barzanji at the start of the meeting reviewed the most important legal and consular files, which are related to legal assistance, implementation of obligations outlined in the joint agreements between Baghdad and Ankara, in addition to discussing facilitating visa process for nationals of the two neighboring countries.
On his part, the Turkish Ambassador expressed his country’s willingness to cooperate with Iraq in all fields, referring to the meetings held recently in this regard, indicating that this visit comes within the coordination of the subsequent visit of the Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister to Baghdad, which will hopefully take place in the second half of this month.
