Head of Legal Department Presides Iraq’s delegation at Ad Hoc Committee to Elaborate a Comprehensive International Convention on Countering the Use of Information and Communications Technologies for Criminal Purposes
The Head of the Legal Department Ambassador Haider Shia Al-Barrak headed the delegation of the Republic of Iraq participating in Ad Hoc Committee to Elaborate a Comprehensive International Convention on Countering the Use of Information and Communications Technologies for Criminal Purposes, which was held in New York, within the context of effective contribution to international efforts concerned with stopping cybercrime in light of the vast technological development the world is witnessing, where Many victims fall as a result of these crimes, whether through exploitation of children, blackmailing, or targeting international and national institutions that rely on the use of technology to manage their work and protect their national security.
The Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of Iraq’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York Dr. Abbas Kadhim Obaid attended the meeting of the Committee.
