Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Meets Ambassadors of Arab Countries Accredited to Austria

 
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein, held a meeting with Ambassadors and heads of Arab diplomatic Missions accredited to Austria, on the sidelines of his visit to the republic of Austria, on January 21, 2024.

His Excellency Minister Hussein reviewed the results of his ongoing visit to Austria, and his meeting with his Austrian Counterpart, stressing Iraq’s clear position which is consistent with the Arab position regarding the call to stop the war on Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid urgently, affirming the threat of expanding the scope of conflict and its continuation, in addition to the repercussions of expanding the scope of conflict included many countries in the region and beyond, until it reached Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan and the Red Sea.

Minister Hussein, stressed that Iraq will not be a battleground for settling conflicts, but rather seeks to have a balanced relations with neighboring countries based on the principles of good neighborliness, interests and mutual respect, as well the internal problems of countries should not be exported abroad because that would threaten the stability of the entire region, and reflects negatively on its economic conditions.

His Excellency touched on the general situation in Iraq, the success of the local elections held last month, the stability of the security situation in the country, and the establishment of a new phase of construction and reconstruction.
On their part, the Arab Ambassadors extended their thanks and appreciation for the meeting, praising Iraq’s principled and firm stance on the Palestinian issue, and the importance of such visits to European countries in order to coordinate and clarify stances, to serve joint Arab action.
