Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Holds a phone call with Turkish Foreign Minister
On January 18, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein, held a phone call with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Hakan Fidan, and briefed his Turkish counterpart on the details of the Iranian aggression against the city of Erbil. Both sides exchanged views on developments in the region, especially the armed conflict between Pakistan and Iran.
On his part, the Turkish Minister informed Minister Hussein on the latest updates on his conversations with the Iranian and Pakistani sides regarding the current crisis between the two sides.
During the call, the two Ministers stressed the necessity of resorting to dialogue, negotiations and consultations to resolve problems and tensions in the region in a way that serves stability and contributes to the prevailing of security.
In a related context, the two Ministers indicated the importance of the relations between Iraq and Turkey and the necessity to strengthen and develop them, in addition both Ministers expressed their appreciation for the strong and solid relations between the two friendly countries, and their keenness to continue work, coordination and consultation regarding various issues of common interest.
