Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations Ambassador Bahr Alulum Presides Iraqi Delegation Participating in Extraordinary Session of Council of the League of Arab States
Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations Ambassador Muhammad Hussein Bahr Al-Ulum, presided the Iraqi delegation participating in the extraordinary session of the council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level, held on January 17, 2024, through video conferencing, for adopting resolutions that support and backup the Federal Government of Somalia in preserving the unity, sovereignty and security of its territories.
The Council adopted a Resolution affirming the support for the security, stability, unity and sovereignty of Somalia, and backing the Somali government to preserve Somali sovereignty, along with emphasizing its full solidarity with the stance of the Somali state with all its agencies, in addition to its categorical rejection for any action that breaches or violates Somali sovereignty. The Council also stressed the Arab firm stance on that the Somaliland is an integral part of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
The acting Head of the Arab Department Osama Mahdi Ghanem, and the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim in Cairo Arwa Hashem, participated in the meeting within the Iraqi delegation.
