Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Meets Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia Tanja Fajon, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and ways to develop and enhance them in a manner that serves common interests, additionally they touched on the recent Iranian aggression on the Iraqi territories. Minister Hussein, stressed Iraq’s stance and actions in the Security Council and the United Nations, to condemn the Iranian aggression on Iraq, noting that the League of Arab States held an emergency session today at the request of Iraq against the backdrop of the Iranian aggression on the city of Erbil.
Affirming that Iraq will continue to defend its rights through political and legal means to ensure its security and sovereignty.
Minister Hussein renew Iraq’s firm stance on the Palestinian issue and the necessity to stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, in addition to continue providing humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.
On her part, the Slovenian Foreign Minister called on Iraq to join an alliance that will be formed to ensure the protection of water resources. In this context, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister confirmed Iraq’s approval to join this alliance and the possibility of future cooperation in the field of water.
