Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Meets Finland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland Ms. Elina Valtonen, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2024.

During the meeting, they reviewed advancing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, joint cooperation in various fields, especially on the issue of immigration.

Minister Hussein touched on the recent Iranian aggression, stressing Iraq’s recourse to the United Nations Security Council and its condemnation of the Iranian aggression.

The two sides also discussed the situation in Gaza, the ongoing war, Iraq’s stance in support of the Palestinians, and the necessity of stopping the war and delivering humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

In addition to the political situation and the importance of stability in the region, affirming its positive reflection on security within Iraq in particular and the region in general.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Fouad Hussein extended an invitation to his Finnish counterpart to visit Iraq.
