Signing Memorandum of Understanding Between Foreign Service Institute and United Nations Institute for Training and Research UNITAR

Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Planning Affairs Dr. Hisham Al-Alawi, and the Executive Director of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research UNITAR Ambassador Nikhil Seth, signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the Foreign Service Institute and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research at the Institute’s headquarters in Geneva on January 9, 2024. As an indicator of the Ministry’s leadership’s keenness to benefit from global expertise to develop training programs and implement special activities to build the capabilities and skills of Iraqi diplomats.
Dr. Al-Alawi affirmed the Ministry’s leadership aspiration to implement programs for professional development and diplomats Qualifying, through training programs, workshops and studies on topics related to conference diplomacy, multilateral negotiations, languages and international law, cybersecurity and digital diplomacy, climate change, green economy and environmental management, in addition to activities that focuses entirely on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
