Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Planning Affairs Participates in a Meeting on Iraq’s Regional Role in Middle East

Within the framework to enhance communication with the Geneva Center for Security Policies GCSP, the Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Planning Affairs Ambassador Hisham Al-Alawi, participated in a round table meeting entitled Iraq’s regional role in the Middle East, which was organized by the Center on January 9, 2024, in the presence of the Director of Geneva Center for Security Policy GCSP Ambassador Thomas Greminger, and a number of experts specialized in Middle East region.
During the meeting the Undersecretary Dr. Al-Alawi reviewed Iraq’s strategic vision in achieving balance in its regional and international relations, and enhancing stability in the region, with concentrating on continuing efforts to expand regional economic cooperation, stressing the importance of Iraq’s role as an effective and independent mediator in resolving disputes and promoting understanding between neighboring countries and regional Key issues and its impact on security and stability, underlying Iraq’s commitment to the principles of dialogue and cooperation.
