Head of the Department of Arab Affairs during His Meeting with Algerian Ambassador, Confirms that the holding of Arab summit in Algeria Consolidates Common Values and Arab Solidarity
The Head of the Department of Arab Affairs, Dr Osama Mahdi Ghanem, has met the Algerian Ambassador to Iraq, Mr Belkacem Mahmoudi, at the Ministry’s headquarters. The two sides discussed ways of developing the bilateral relations, and emphasized the mutual keenness in developing cooperation in all fields to meet the interests of the two countries. They also exchanged views on issues of common interest, and they discussed the ongoing preparations for the Iraqi-Algerian joint committee in Algeria, which is hoped to be held next month, aiming at developing the bonds of cooperation and partnership between the two brotherly countries.
The two sides also touched on the Algeria’s efforts to prepare for the Arab summit to be held early next November. The Head of the Department of Arab Affairs confirmed Iraq’s presence in it, confirming that the Arab summit in Algeria consolidates the common values and Arab solidarity.
On his part, the Algerian ambassador extended his congratulations on the occasion of the election of the President of the Republic and the assignment of the Prime Minister to form the new Iraqi government, emphasizing the readiness of his country’s government to support the people of Iraq.
The Algerian ambassador also referred to Algeria’s declaration emanating from the (reunification) conference to realise the Palestinian national unity signed in Algeria on October 13, 2022, in appreciation of the efforts to support the Palestinian people and out an end to the internal division and support them to realise the legitimate goals of Palestinian people.
