Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs receives a phone call from his Iranian counterpart

On Saturday, 10/29/2022, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein received a phone call from the Iranian Foreign Minister, Mr. Hossein Amir Abdollahian. The Iranian Foreign Minister congratulated the Minister on the occasion of forming the new government and renewing confidence in him as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq. The two sides discussed upgrading bilateral relations in various fields, and ways to enhance consultation and coordination between Baghdad and Tehran. The two ministers also discussed a number of regional and international issues of common interest, stressing the need to work to reduce tension and achieve calm in the region, and to avoid escalation that would not serve any party.
