Undersecretary for Ministry of Foreign Affairs Receives Australian Ambassador to Iraq
Undersecretary for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Safia Talib Al-Suhail, has met, at the Ministry’s headquarters, the Australian Ambassador to Iraq, Ms Paula Ganly. At the beginning of the meeting, they touched on the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries. The two sides also reviewed the latest developments of the political process in Iraq. The Undersecretary confirmed the Ministry’s follow-up to the unfortunate incident that an Australian embassy vehicle in Baghdad was exposed to, pointing out that the Ministry regards the security of foreign missions as first priority. They also discussed the cultural and economic cooperation between the two friendly countries.
On her part, the Australian ambassador confirmed that her country supports the continuity and stability of the political process.
Head of the Department of Asia and Australia, Mr Haider Nasser Al- Shamrti has attended the meeting.
