Head of the Department of European Affairs Meets Romanian Ambassador to Iraq

On 18/7/2022, Head of the Department of European Affairs, Ambassador Safia Talib Al-Suhail, met Ambassador of the Republic of Romania to Iraq, Mr Radu Octavian Dobri at the Ministry’s headquarters.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Head of the Department welcomed the Romanian Ambassador, as they discussed topics of common interest in a way that contributes to enhancing the bilateral relations between Iraq and Romania.

The two sides discussed the activation of the joint Iraqi-Romanian committee meetings, parliamentary diplomatic relations, exchange of official visits, and signing of a memorandum of understanding on political consultations between the two foreign ministries, in addition to the visit of the Romanian Undersecretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Baghdad.

They also discussed ways of enhancing cultural and academic cooperation and the possibility of benefiting from the Romanian expertise in the field of information technology and e-governance.

At the end of the meeting, the Romanian ambassador affirmed his country’s keenness to enhance the relations with Iraq in all fields.
