Chargé d’Affairs ad Interim of the Republic of Iraq in Abuja Meets Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs

On 6/6/2022, the Chargé d’Affairs ad interim of the Republic of Iraq in Abuja, Counsellor Anwar Saeed, met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama. During the meeting, they discussed ways of enhancing the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.

The two sides discussed means and areas by which the bilateral cooperation can be activated.

On his part, Mr Onyeama affirmed that Iraq has a prominent position among the official and popular circles in Nigeria, with which Nigeria enjoys historical ties and friendly relations. The Nigerian government has a serious desire to develop the bilateral relations and expand their future horizons, commending the will of the Iraqi people, stating that despite what Iraq has been through, its people have the spirit of patience and determination to preserve their state and its cultural heritage that had benefited all of humanity.”
