Head of the Department of European Affairs Meets the Czech Ambassador to Iraq

 On June 14, 2022, Head of the Department of European Affairs, Ambassador Safia Talib Al-Suhail, met the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Iraq, Mr Petr Štěpánek, at the Ministry’s headquarters. At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the Department of European Affairs welcomed the Czech ambassador, and confirmed the Iraqi government’s keenness to enhance the historic relations with the Czech Republic, expressing the ministry’s readiness to support and assist the embassy in coordination with the relevant Iraqi authorities for the interest of both countries on all fields.

 The two sides discussed the subject of enhancing the bilateral relations between the two countries, opening prospects for cooperation in all political, economic and cultural fields, exchange visits by high-level officials between the two countries, and the agreements and memoranda of understanding to be signed between the two sides during the upcoming period, including an agreement to avoid double taxation and prevent tax evasion between the two sides.

On his part, Mr Petr congratulated Ambassador Al-Suhail on the occasion of her assumption the new position as a head of the Department of European Affairs.
