Minister of Foreign Affairs Reviews Bilateral Relations and Ways to Enhance them, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway, Ms Anniken Huitfeldt
The Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein has reviewed with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway, Ms Anniken Huitfeldt, the bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them. The Minister valued Norway’s supportive stances to Iraq, saying:” Norway has provided Iraq with no little favour, and stood with us in difficult circumstances,” adding: “Iraq has overcome the terror crisis, and entered the phase of reconstruction and building, stating “as we looked forward to your standing with us in support of security, we look forward to your standing with us in construction, reconstruction, and development.”
This came within the framework of the Minister’s participation in the ministerial meeting of the International Coalition to Combat ISIS, which is being held in Marrakesh, Kingdom of Morocco.
On another point, the Minister called on the Norwegian side to intensify efforts to hold the meeting of the Iraqi-Norwegian joint committee and to open the Norwegian embassy in Baghdad, for its great impact, in opening new prospects for joint cooperation.
On her part, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway, Ms Anniken Huitfeldt, affirmed her country’s continued support for Iraq, and its keenness to continue the joint cooperation, and expressed her thanks and appreciation for the efforts exerted by the Iraqi government in liberating cities from the grip of ISIS.
