Assistant Head of the Department of Asia and Australia Meets the Economic Adviser of Japanese Embassy in Baghdad
On 7/4/2022, The Assistant Head of the Department of Asia and Australia, Rahman Loa’an Mohsen, met the economic advisor of the Japanese Embassy in Baghdad, Mr Takashi Komiyama, at the ministry’s headquarters. The two sides affirmed their keenness to develop and consolidate the political and economic relations between the two friendly countries.
The Assistant Head of the Department of Asia and Australia stated that Iraq is looking forward to building an economic partnership with Japan in order to rebuild and rehabilitate the infrastructure in Iraq by establishing a fund to finance the projects with Japan, and the Iraqi government has a clear strategy based on consolidating its economic relations with Japan out of the growth of common interests, as well as the importance of relations during the sixties and seventies of the last century and their vital areas, especially in energy and infrastructure.
On his part, Mr Komiyama confirmed that his country sees the evident improvement of the situation in Iraq in general, and hopes that this improvement will continue within the framework of the legislations and laws related to investment to encourage more Japanese companies to work in Iraq.
